Assessment of ground contamination, Cornwall

Client: P A Mitchell
Prior to completion of redevelopment of a former garage site, North Cornwall District Council identified a potential hazard under Part 2A (EPA) from underground fuel storage tanks, and required the developer to assess the contamination risks to allow completion.
The Council recommended us to the developer. We opted for
window sampling in order to minimize disturbance.
No significantly elevated concentrations of contaminants were identified and, due to the widespread hardcover acting as a physical barrier, we were able to demonstrate that no remedial measures were required.
