Client: Cofra UK for Kajima Constuction Europe

The JVC Business Park site has a long and varied industrial history and site investigations had revealed the presence of lime pits dating back to the 1930s. The site is adjacent to a sensitive SSSI and close to the Brent reservoir and it was decided to install a containment system to encapsulate the lime pits.

We undertook a supplementary ground investigation prepared detailed designs showing the ground profile and depth of the containment barrier, validated the installation of the containment wall and produced an as-built construction drawing.

The containment system was highly cost effective as it would have cost about ten times more to dispose of the contaminated soil.
