Station Close, Morley, Leeds Rock bolting

Client: Facia Five Developments Limited

The boundary of a development site was a steep slope rising to approximately 14 metres, at the top of which lay residential properties. During the ground works phase of the project the base of the slope was subjected to excavation to facilitate development. This led to the rock face becoming unstable and posed a significant risk to the groundworks as well as future users of the site and the proposed structure.

We were appointed to undertake a slope stability assessment in order to assess the need for stabilisation measures at the site. This included rock mass field mapping, topographical surveys and computer modelling in order to assess the overall slope stability and potential failure mechanisms.

We also provided a design specification and acted on behalf of the Client to supervise the rock face stabilisation measures undertaken by the contractor.
