Design of seawater cut-off wall, West Sussex Installation of cut-off wall
Client: Worthing Borough Council

Seawater seepage through the shingle bank behind the beach at Worthing, West Sussex was an issue for the existing residential area and proposed future developments.

CARD designed a cut-off wall using   plastic sheet piles 5 metres deep along a 500metre section of beach to form a storm-water barrier.
The plastic sheet pile system used has major advantages in such environments as corrosion within the design life is effectively zero and installation is quick using lightweight equipment.
