Client: Frasers Riverside Quarter
The site, a former fuel depot, is being redeveloped as a multi-storey residential development. The site is located at the confluence of the River Wandle and the River Thames and a series of inter-tidal ecological terraces are being constructed as part of the development.
We have had a full time presence on site during the excavation works to advise on the waste classification and licensing requirements. This included field testing of the arisings using portable field analysers and sampling for confirmatory laboratory analysis.
We have advised the client and the contractor on the waste licensing requirements and the disposal classification of the material. Through selective excavation and waste segregation it has been possible to reduce the volume of material requiring disposal in the higher waste categories, thereby reducing disposal costs.
