Card Geotechnics Limited (CGL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy O’Dea as Business Director based at CGL’s Head Office in Aldershot. Andy will be responsible for developing the company’s business in the south east, and elsewhere in collaboration with CGL’s regional offices. He will also be involved in the management and technical aspects of CGL’s activities, continuing the CGL’s senior staff approach, providing direct and informed advice to clients on project matters.

With over 20 years’ experience in geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy within a number of small and large organisations, Andy has managed and delivered many large and complicated multi-disciplinary land development projects for a variety of major UK clients. Andy has also contributed as a member of the steering group for several publications, including CIRIA, CL:AIRE and BGA. His extensive experience encompasses contamination risk assessment, waste management, sustainability assessment, geotechnical design, UXO and environmental impact assessment.

Andy’s move to CGL reunites him with CGL Managing Director, Ian Marychurch,with whom Andy worked in the early 1990s. Ian says, “we are delighted that Andy is bringing his wealth of technical experience and business skills to CGL to help build on our recent successes. His involvement in the business will allow us to maintain and develop our consultancy and design services, providing ground solutions that meet and exceed our clients’ expectations. He joins at an exciting time in the growth of the company”.

This appointment comes at a time when CGL is responding to the increasing demand for the company’s services and it will place the team in a position to achieve the company’s vision for the next 5 years and beyond.
